STROKE REHABILITATION

Rehabilitation is one of the most important phases of stroke recovery for many stroke survivors. The effect of the stroke may mean that you need to change, relearn or redefine how you live.

WHAT IS STROKE REHABILITATION?

Stroke rehabilitation needs to be done in a very timely manner and through a structured program to help you regain independence and improve your quality of life by helping you relearn skills you lost when a stroke affected part of your brain. Though it doesn’t reverse the effects of a stroke, it builds your strength, capability, and confidence to help you return to independent living.

The sooner you begin stroke rehab, the more likely you are to regain lost abilities and skills. Rehab can start as early as 3-5 days after you have stabilized from the stroke incident. What you do in a stroke rehab program depends on what you need to become independent.

Goals that you will achieve:

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (TDCS)

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (TDCS) is part of our non-invasive brain stimulation programme at ReGen Rehab, one of the few programmes of its kind in Malaysia run by recognised experts in neurorehabilitation.

Brain stimulation has shown beneficial effects on fine motor movements, balance and coordination.

The treatment is best combined with a structured rehabilitation programme.

TDCS is painlesss, safe, has minimal side effects, and has been used in thousands of people worldwide. It aims to improve the quality of life and reduce the effects of post-stroke impairments.
